The challenge

The track view allows users to dynamically play-along. It needs to be absorbed at a glance while the musician’s attention is focused on the instrument they're playing.

The current chord needs to have the highest visual hierarchy, users need to be able to quickly read the chords, and identify which keys or strings to play. Musicians need to quickly see what’s coming next, and be able to plan for it.

Careful and attentive collaboration with the client - they have incredible in-depth musical knowledge which was a great resource and starting point

I suggested the idea to introduce a ‘Zen’ mode to reduce visual noise and allow focused concentration - which the clients loved
